e-Football Preview: Manchester United vs West Brom
Article by Adam Stephens
After last weekend’s 4-1 hammering against fierce rivals Manchester City in the league, it was important for United to get back on track by defeating Liverpool in the 3rd round of the Capital One Cup. Now the Red Devils must get back on track in the League and can’t afford any more slip ups this weekend. Moyes emphasises this by saying "The players showed they were hurt. We'll try to give the fans something to shout about again" link
Manchester United have received a boast ahead of tomorrow’s game with the knowledge that last season’s top goal scorer Robin Van Persie has returned to training and Moyes hopes that he will feature “he has trained today and is back fit. We will see exactly where he is but he has trained.” link Tom Cleverly could also be back in contention for selection after missing the Liverpool game in midweek.
West Brom meanwhile are coming off the back of a convincing first league win against Sunderland last weekend and were only narrowly beaten on penalties by Arsenal’s youngsters in the Capital One Cup. However, Albion have not beaten United in their 14 Barclays Premier League meetings losing 11 and drawing 3 with their last league win coming at Old Trafford back in December 1978. They will be without skipper Chris Brunt whilst strikers Victor Anichebe and Nicolas Anelka both remain doubtful for the game. Their main threats are likely to come from hard working Irish striker Shane Long, James Morrison and Scott Sinclair who could possibly cause us problems down the flanks.
Overall this is game which should be a routine home win but United must be wary as this is a team that scored 5 against us last time out at the Hawthorns that was Fergie’s last game in charge as well as coming back to draw against us 2-2 at Old Trafford back in 2010.

It all depends on whether or not Van Persie is fit enough to start this game. However I would personally either one or both Wilfred Zaha or Adnan Januzaj as both Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia have been largely ineffective so far this season with the exception of the Bayer Levakusan game for the latter.
De Gea
Rafel Evans Vidic Evra
Carrick Fellani
Zaha Rooney Januzaj
