The A-League is set for a massive month, as it prepares for two big games against England's most successful teams - Manchester United and Liverpool FC.

The newly formed "A-League All Stars" will take on the Red Devils on July 20th in Sydney, a match set up to showcase the standard of the A-League and give the players a chance to play against the likes of Robin Van Persie, Patrice Evra & Welsh legend Ryan Giggs. It may be just a "friendly" game, but it does have a big impact on the growth of the league and its reputation. Speaking to Pedj Bojic, he really put across how much all the players in the A-League are not only looking forward to the clash against Man Utd. They are also looking at the prospect of what's next to come, making sure that their 13/14 season is "All Star" worthy! We have already seen the success of the All Stars style game bringing in good publicity in the MLS and giving the league a much needed boost to the foreign market. It now boasts legends of the modern game - Thierry Henry, Robbie Keane & Tim Cahill. All players considered to be best of their generation in their positions. So the question has to be asked, is the A-League All Stars game going to lead to big name transfers? In my opinion, 100% yes. There is no reason why the A-League can't add to its marquee signings. It has already brought in Alessandro Del Piero, Shinji Ono, Dwight Yorke, Harry Kewell, Emile Heskey and many more. This exposure should have a positive impact on big name players wanting to come to the A-League. We might not even have to wait long until we see the next big name transfer, with the Melbourne Victory linked with Italian powerhouse, Fabrizio Miccoli.

With Melbourne Victory set to take on Liverpool FC in a friendly on the 24th of July. This is a fantastic chance, for the city of Melbourne to showcase why Miccoli should consider making a move to the Victorian capital. With the big name departure of Marcos Rojas, who signed with VfB Stuttgart and Flores leaving for the Central Coast Mariners the Victory is in need of a playmaker and midfield general - a player to link up with talisman Archie Thompson. With Ange Postecoglou in charge, that free flowing attacking style will attract top players, every footballers dream is to be at a side that is respected and plays the beautiful game.

Exciting transfers is exactly what a league needs to grow, and so far the 2013 off season has delivered! With Adelaide United announcing the double signings of former Barcelona youth players Sergio Cirio and Isaías Sánchez. The Reds have a great reputation of bringing in unknown players and making them stars. For that reason, I will be keeping a very close eye on the Spanish duo.

It's not all good news with A-league transfers. Rojas left for Stuttgart, Antonis left for Parma and young Matty Ryan signed with Club Brugge. All players will be missed, but I have to wish them luck with their careers. All 3 players have big name potential, and it would be great to see them make it big.
