Many expected controversial owner Massimo Cellino to sack Evans after the Whites’ shocking 4-0 defeat at eh Amex stadium, especially when you consider his history at being trigger happy when it comes to managers having already sacked five in just two years at Leeds.
However, Cellino has given Evans the vote of confidence by saying he has no intention of letting Evans go as head coach.
This can’t be taking too seriously given the last manager to receive this was got sacked two weeks later.
Cellino also confirmed on sky sports news that he told Evans not to do any media interviews after the game as he had been doing “too much talking in recent week.”

All of the damage came in the first half of the match which was littered with defensive errors from the Leeds back four, which started when right-back Scott Wootton conceded a penalty for a clumsy challenge on the seagulls full-back Liam Rosenior inside the box.
Brighton striker Tomer Hemed calmly chipped the spot kick down the middle of the goal to give his side the lead.
This set the tone for the first half and after an own goal from Liam Cooper and a mistake from skipper Sol Bamba, Evans’ side found themselves 4-0 down before half time.
After a better second half performance Leeds managed to stem the tide and keep the score to just four, this was still the Whites’ heaviest defeat in two years.
It was a performance which lacked the passion and commitment which has become synonymous with Steve Evans’ sides over the years.
The Scotsman seemed to have an immediate impact after replacing Uwe Rosler in October with five wins in his first 11 league matches, including impressive away wins at Huddersfield and Wolves, giving Leeds a real chance of making the play-offs at the turn of the year.

Despite this good run, it was obvious that the squad lacked depth and the owner being seemingly unwilling to spend money on bringing in quality players, which has frustrated fans as Leeds sold one of their best players in Sam Byram for a reported £3million to West Ham.
This has proved costly as the squad have not been able to cope with injuries to key players such as Chris Wood and Gaetano Berardi and the form has subsequently dropped.
Up next for Leeds are struggling Bolton Wanderers, who themselves have experience off the field issues recently as the club are in crippling debt and have been the subject of a takeover.
It is a match which you feel Evans needs to get a positive result in order to keep the faith of the owner.
There is no doubting that Steve Evans is on the ropes as Leeds manager and is in need of a string of good results if he is still going to be in a job come the end of the season.
