Mourinho targets Roma star as first signing

He may have only been in the Old Trafford hotseat for a few weeks but Jose Mourinho has identified Kostas Manolas as his top transfer target at Manchester United.

In what is sure to be an extremely busy window for all Premier League clubs Mourinho will have his work cut out in persuading stars to make the move to Old Trafford without the lure of Champions League football.

The Portuguese coach finally put pen to paper on a three-year contract with the Red Devils last week after days of speculation linking him with the Old Trafford job.

Defender Manolas (24) has been touted as a target for Chelsea, Liverpool and the Red Devils in recent days. And now, Italian football expert Emanuele Giulianelli has confirmed that the Greece international has emerged as Mourinho’s top target.

We understand that interest has not reached the stage of a bid as yet, but will be decided on either way by the end of this week. Watch this space.....
