England enter the Euro's with Kane but no Stones or Berahino

A further injury to Southgate’s squad could hand the opportunity to one of several new faces to make an impact in tonight's game versus Portugal.
Saido Berahino, England’s top scorer in the qualifying campaign for the under 21’s European Championship is flying back home after picking up a knee injury in training today and will be replaced by Wolves striker Benik Afobe.
Speaking to the media Southgate said “It’s a great personal disappointment of Saido” and continued "He’s very conscious of it not affecting the team and we’re personally disappointed for him because he’s been with us from the very first game, scored our first goal and has been a huge part of the reason why we’re here".
The news comes on the back of an other injury to one of Southgate’s vital players, Everton defender John Stones who will miss the first two games through concussion after a collision in training with Stoke keeper, Jack Butland.
Unlike in defence Southgate has more appetising options in attack with Tottenham’s Premier League young player of the year, Harry Kane and Liverpool’s (once a compensation fee is agreed with Burnley) new signing Danny Ings both likely to feature. The centre back partnership will probably see Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson and Leicester’s Liam More who have both featured in England’s qualifying campaign start tonight's game.
