Arsenal edge closer to stunning deal

Over the weekend it has emerged via several reputable sources that Arsenal are on the verge of signing Juventus star Vidal for around £21m.

Whilst the signing will not only send a signal to Arsenal's title rivals that the Gooners mean business, it also addresses a key area of the side which many fans had been pointing out for months as a weakness.

VIDAL ON HIS WAY?

Arsenal really need a defensive midfielder at the moment, but Vidal is more of a box-to-box midfielder. The 28-year-old is incredibly versatile however, and has played in a huge number of positions throughout his career.

Vidal certainly has the qualities to adapt, even if it’s not the role he is ideally suited to. Despite that, he still isn’t a dedicated defensive midfielder, and that could be a problem. Coquelin still needs to remain fit otherwise there man be a square peg/round hole scenario.

Worries aside, this looks to be a quality addition by Wenger and more South American blood man very soon be on it's way to the Emirates.
