Celtic FC: Fraser in the Shop Window
Article by Rory Higgins
With the giant Celtic stopper due to make his international bow against Chile on Friday night it’s just another chance for Forster to show how good he is to people who doubt is ability just because of the league he plays in.
For some his Champions League performances like his world class display against Barcelona last season do not matter as he is not playing against top position week in week out. We as Celtic fans all know how good he can be when he’s on top of his game and without him over the last couple of seasons I do not believe we would have got as many points in the Champions League as we have.
With this in mind there will be a lot of Premier League teams watching his situation on Friday night to see how he conducts himself on the international stage. If he is successful which I have total faith that he will be, when clubs come calling in the summer what will be Forsters transfer fee if can establish himself as a full capable international goalkeeper.
At the age of only 25 he is still young for a goalkeeper and he could easily offer his services to a top team for the next 9-10 years. With this in mind I think Celtic should be looking towards the £8 million mark for him come next summer when no doubt there will be many suitors.
The question that remains for most Celtic fans is who we will replace him with?
