Spanish source Fichajes report that Inter Milan midfielder Gary Medel is open to a move to join Liverpool.

Fichajes go on to say that the tough tackling South American is ready to listen to offers from Brendan Rodgers this summer.

The 27-year-old Chilean moved to the San Siro last summer, having spent the previous campaign in the Premier League with Cardiff City and may be the chosen one to try and fill the boots of Steven Gerrard after the Liverpool legends departure.

Brendan Rodgers is looking to strengthen his central midfield options with Brazilian Lucas Leiva lacking fitness, Joe Allen failing to impress, and with Steven Gerrard having left the club for MLS side LA Galaxy.
