On The Pitch

18 May – Birmingham City Ladies 2-1 Chelsea Ladies. Chelsea Ladies suffered their first FA Women's Super League defeat of the season on Sunday. Josanne Potter scored the winner for the hosts, after Hannah Blundell had cancelled out Chelsea Weston's early opener for Birmingham. Karen Carney missed a penalty for the home side in the second half.


18 May – England U17’s 2-0 Portugal U17’s. Chelsea Academy striker Dominic Solanke netted his third goal of the European Under-17s Championship finals as England beat Portugal 2-0 in Sunday's semi-final. Both Solanke and Izzy Brown played the full game.

21 May – Wales U21’s 1-3 England U21’s. Nathaniel Chalobah played the full game as England Under-21s beat Wales U21s to close in on a place in the qualification play-offs for the 2015 European Championships. Josh McEachran was not involved..

21 May – England U17’s 1-1 Netherlands U17’s. Dominic Solanke continued his rich vein of form, scoring in the European under 17’s Final England’s goal after 25 minutes. Izzy Brown also played the full match, with England prevailing 4-1 in a Penalty shoot-out.

22 May – Toulon Under-21 Tournament. Josh McEachran featured in England’s 3-0 victory over Qatar. Lucas Piazon played the final eight minutes for Brazil in a 2-0 victory over South Korea.

24 May – England U19’s 6-0 Montenegro U19’s. Chelsea’s Young Player of The Year, Lewis Baker converted a penalty in England’s comfortable win. John Swift and Ola Aina also started for England.

25 May – Chelsea Ladies 0-0 Notts County Ladies. A resilient Chelsea Ladies performance denied Notts County Ladies the chance to go top of the FA Women's Super League table after a fiercely contested goalless draw at Wheatsheaf Park. This was the ladies final game before the mid-season break.

Off The Pitch

18 May – Chelsea’s Frank Lampard has been named as England Vice-Captain for the forthcoming World Cup.

21 May – Chelsea and Adidas have launched next season’s away kit. The kit is all yellow with a royal blue trim. The new shirt will be the lightest Chelsea away shirt ever produced, featuring the latest in adiZero lightweight technology and a polo collar which pays tribute to the retro designs, as well as an iconic blue stripe across the back which contrasts the two traditional Chelsea colours.

23 May – Chelsea Football Club and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed terms (believed to be in the region of £48 million) for the transfer of David Luiz to the French club. The move is now subject to David Luiz agreeing personal terms with PSG and passing a medical examination.
