Villa take on the Blades: upset on the cards?

Article by Sam Attrap.

Comments by Paul Lambert this week that suggested that the F.A Cup is not a priority for Aston Villa, may hint that the Villa boss will select a weakened line-up.

Nicolas Helenius and Jordan Bowery look set to start for Villa in a side that will not include Christian Benteke, Libor Kozak or club captain Ron Vlaar.

Whilst Lambert’s comments may be seen as controversial, the magic of the F.A Cup will not be lost on the six thousand travelling Blades fans, who can look forward to former right-back, Matthew Lowton, welcoming them to Villa Park.

For the Blades, Jose Baxter and Stephen McGinn are likely to miss out after picking up injuries in the New Years Day defeat to Walsall. Nigel Clough will opt to replace them with Connor Coady and Shaun Miller, as well as giving teenager Dominic Calvert Lewin a place on the bench.

Last time out in the F.A Cup the Blades beat Villa 3-1, can Nigel Clough’s side replicate such a result?
