Overview
The rivalry between Manchester City and Arsenal has been one of the most intense in the last few years. The latest of which was the Community Shield which ended with Arsenal coming away with a 3-0 victory. While some may argue that Manchester City didn’t show up on that day Arsenal fans will have been very happy with their performance and will hope that they can replicate that feat at the weekend. However, who can forget the 6-3 beating that Arsenal were on the end of last season. Manchester City were simply outstanding on that day, but they have fallen to some shocking results since then. One of these was last game weeks 1-0 loss to Stoke City.
Team News & Possible Line-ups
Arsenal
Injury News- Ramsey (Ankle) Doubt
Giroud (Tibia), Walcott (Knee), Gnabry (Knee) Injured
Gibbs, Arteta, Ospina Set to Return
Possible Arsenal Line-up

Team News & Possible Line-ups
Arsenal
Injury News- Ramsey (Ankle) Doubt
Giroud (Tibia), Walcott (Knee), Gnabry (Knee) Injured
Gibbs, Arteta, Ospina Set to Return
Possible Arsenal Line-up
Szczesney
Debuchy Koscielney Mertesacker Gibbs
Arteta Wilshere
Sanchez Ozil Cazorla
Welbeck
Key Player- Welbeck- Just back from international duty with England, where he netted 2 goals against Switzerland, the latest addition to the Gunner’s ranks will be keen to set a great impression in front of the Arsenal fans for the first time.
Weak Link- Mertesacker- It is no secret that Mertesacker lacks in pace, and with the strike force and counter-attack ability that Manchester City have this might be a problem for Arsene Wenger’s men. Chambers could start instead, but I believe that Wenger will choose experience over pace.
Manchester City
Injury News- Jovetic (Hamstring), Fernando (Pelvis) Doubt
Zabaleta Set to Return
Possible Manchester City Line-up
Hart
Zabaleta Kompany Demicheles Clichy
Toure Fernandinho
Nasri Silva
Dzeko Aguero
Key Player- Toure- If Manchester City are to succeed against the Gunners they are going to need to stop them dominating the ball in the midfield, and Yaya Toure is arguably the best central midfielder in the world meaning his role will be crucial.
Weak Link- Clichy- With Alexis Sanchez in form the former gunner is going to have to go all out to defend his wing and prevent Sanchez playing either provider or scorer. I believe that Clichy will not have the confidence to execute the role efficiently, due to his constant rotation with Kolarov.
Score Prediction
I predict that the final result will be a 2-2 draw. I believe that both teams will have the attacking prowess to score. Arsenal will have high hopes due to their recent success against Besiktas in the Champions League and Man. City will be looking to bounce back after their disappointing result against the Potter last time out.
