On The Pitch
19 January – Chelsea 3-1 Manchester United.
Chelsea pulled 12 points clear of the reigning champions with a comfortable victory at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Samuel Eto’o put the Blues ahead against the run of play when his speculative shot took a deflection off Michael Carrick and looped over the stranded David De Gea. Chelsea doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time when Eto’o smartly converted Gary Cahill’s cross from close range. The game was over as a contest 4 minutes after the break when Eto’o completed his hat-trick prodding home the loose ball after Cahill’s thumping header had been parried by De Gea. Javier Hernandez grabbed a consolation goal for United on 78 minutes, and Captain Nemanja Vidic was sent off in stoppage time for a rash foul on Eden Hazard. Rafael was lucky not to follow Vidic down the tunnel after an ugly, two-footed lunge on Cahill.

Islam Feruz bagged a brace for the youngsters, as they came from behind to beat Wolves 2-1
