How Rosicky Shot Across the Seven Sisters
Article by e-Arsenal Correspondent Devraj Höm Roy
The NLD is over and life is back to normal. Are we happy? Ohh yeah! But the word on the street is that it was an unconvincing victory.
I, for one, don’t mind 3 points against Spurs, regardless of the way we get them. And this match, my good friend, saw one of the most sexy goals you’ll see anywhere, anytime! More sexy than a skimpily dressed Olivier Giroud in a hotel room. Rosicky! Take a bow! The swerve was out of this world. Another impressive player has been The Ox. Yes, he did miss a couple of sitters, but its alright. At 20, it is understandable that he lacks composure but we all need to pat his back for the way he drives forward and creates attacks. Immense potential there! Couple of words for our backbone - they were absolutely rock solid. Seriously, the best center-back pairing on this planet now. The way they compliment each other is also something that we have missed the last couple of years. It certainly was hilarious when Micah Richards tweeted about Kos being the best center-back in the league! Don’t think its gonna go down too well with his Kompany (pun intended).
Sherwood had a pretty rough night with his ever showy emotions overflowing out of the poor guy, with two incidents catching the eye. First was the javelin-esque throw of his gilet and the second was the moment during which he hallucinated into being a basketball player and threw a rather strong ball to Sagna. Thank God it wasn’t a headbutt!
Back to the pitch, the second half saw more Spurs domination resulting in two chances, with Szczesny having one of his flappy days. Neither taken, thank-you. The final whistle saw some happy scenes with players doing their bit in applauding the away fans and giving away their shirts. Rosicky gave his to a disabled Gooner....Absolutely love the man! Szczesny took a selfie withs Gibbs and Poldi with the away crowd. Brilliant scenes. North London was slowly painted red completely.
We are in the mix again. With Chelsea dropping points and a trip to the stands for Jose, Ramires and Willian; next weekend’s match at Stamford Bridge is of paramount importance. Get three points there and bang, we are right into the race. With Kompany’s red card in the last match, City can become vulnerable in the next match. Good and exciting times ahead!
Alright then, that’s me signing off and yeah, pray to your Gods that Arsene’s 1000th match in charge results in a victory and can prove to be a turning point in this season’s capricious title race.
