Will Fulham's mistakes be paid for?

As a summer of change dawns on the white half of West London, we look at how mistakes over the past twelve months have shaped the Impending future.
Many people will claim that Fulham are already paying for their mistakes this season by falling into English football's second tier, however there is cause for further concern as they could see themselves fall from grace and into the unknown.
It was just four years ago when Simon Davies volleyed in a spectacular equaliser for the whites which helped us push Atletico Madrid to the brink of penalties in the Europa League Final. Since then you could not find two teams that have taken such different paths in the world of Football. Atletico Madrid have just won La Liga alongside reaching a Champions League final, while Fulham have dropped out of the Premier League after a thirteen year tenure.
Now I'm not saying that we should be challenging for titles and reaching cup finals each season but key mistakes this term could drive us further and further away from reaching those kinds of heights.
When Al Fayed bought the club back in 1997 he dreamt of turning us into the Manchester United of the south. Now, although this was not achieved, he definitely gave his all to push us closer to that status. Compare that to Shahid Khan's first season in West London and you will find no similarities (Except from splashing Millions on Mitroglu, a supposed goal scoring saviour who failed to deliver - Just like Al Fayed did with Steve Marlet many many moons ago).
Khan was quoted early on as being a believer in hiring people who understand how to get results and drive a club forward. Some saw this as a fairly smart approach to running a football club, where as I could not help but feel like he was confessing to knowing absolutely nothing about what he was buying in to - something that is supported by the managerial mishaps, January Transfer window shrouded in mystery and more.
So as the curtain call begins on a range of Fulham's playing staff, how will we cope with a shrinking squad and who can come in to supplement the remaining squad members? I think this is the main issue moving forward and we must all hope that there is not a repeat of the January transfer window. Who drew up the mid-season transfer target list? Who authorised a Manager to spend over £12 million only to be sacked a couple of weeks later? These mistakes are already a massive factor in the sharp decline of Fulham Football Club. However this downward spiral can be prevented if the right talent is recruited and the Manager / Dressing Room unite as one.
